hi, I’m Nakia.
Most things begin with an idea. A purpose. A why.
A driving instinct that encourages you to leave your mark on the world.
For me, that’s Playhaus.
I’ve had the honor of being a part of the Applied Behavior Analysis field for the last 10+ years. Five of which I’ve spent as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst., predominately supporting the autistic community. This has allowed me to recognize the importance of what it truly means to provide an individualistic + flexible approach to supporting families.
Almost simultaneously, this realization forced me to acknowledge (& accept) that although sometimes necessary, our field’s primary (& overly rigid) delivery model does not meet the needs of the community we serve on a large enough scale.
My mission is to mentor and guide authentic interactions that evolve the mindset of our field.
In my practice, I’ve found that when therapy is playful, intentional, and most importantly, meaningful to the individual we are supporting, there is an opportunity for greater success regardless of field rigidity.
As an independent BCBA, my role is to navigate the connection of your play language to one that fosters meaningful behavior change.
